Now here's where I begin to start clenching the seat a bit, if ya know what I mean. Once everybody "joins up", only the guy in the lead truck touches the steering wheel. As nerve wracking as it might be to the others involved in this, they can't make any corrections they think they might need. You see, if you start to move your wheel around when your in the middle or rear, you could send the whole convoy off the mountain in an awful wreck.
Tell me if this sounds crazy. I start thinking how could this apply to my everyday life and came up with this.
So often I see in my relationships that when everybody wants to run the show, a truck wreck ensues. And likewise, when you have one leader, or head, things just seem to go better. This happens a lot in marriages.
Each person has an opinion of how things will work best. Both feel they have the right to express their thoughts and be heard, right? Yes. but boy and howdy to we need instruction here.
So we have instructions on this in the bible. How hard could it be? Right? ......Guys? Okay fine, I know when I'm on my own so here's what it say's in Ephesians 5;
21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
Talk about your delicate subjects, huh? But this really is where I wanted to go today. My marriage is way far from being perfect. Way far. My problem is that I know all the things that I'm supposed to do, and still blow it. Because watch, this isn't just a one way street here. I have guild lines to show me what to do. now all I have to do is follow the instructions, And you know how well we do that, right? Well lets look at what it says;
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing[a] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
Wow. Are you seeing it yet? How did I go here just from watching I.R.T.? I'll show ya.
"Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ", ( Work great together as a team so that all the glory can go to the One who sent us ).
"Wives", ( y'all in line helping us get over this here mountain ).
"Submit to your own husbands as you do to the Lord," ( There can only be one head of stuff out here on the mountain. ).
" For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior". ( The Boss said it was me. So please help me get over this Mountain,or burden ).
"Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything." ( Now I need your power to get over this. I need your gifts. But if you try to take control of stuff while we're in the middle of this thing, we're doomed. Just listen to me like the Boss was right here and we'll be fine. You have to trust me that I'm doing things just like He told me to.)
See, I'm not so crazy to make the connect here. I might be crazy to be talking about this while my wife wants to hit my head with a frying pan, tho. I think that's why God has me writing this today instead of the other blog I have halfway done.
So often so many things nag at us. They steal our time away. Take our joy and our peace. We don't have the time to get alone with God. to hear His heart and to listen to the instructions He has for us to live a peaceful life. He does have a plan for you. you know?
Men, and yes I am also speaking to myself here. How can you lead well on the battlefield if your not taking time to listen to your Creator? Your General? Your Leader? You get the picture.
It is so important to be in prayer. You are not a lone ranger, you just play one on t.v.
We need God to instruct us. We need our wives to feel valued and safe. We need our wife's help to get through all the "stuff" we need to get through. We need to realize we can't make it alone. That's why we need to be showing Christ to our wives everyday. In word, in deeds, reading the Word of God to them, and praying over them. Look here at vrs. 25;
25 "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing[a] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless."
So if you hold the opinion that she's dropping the ball, read this again and tell me who's fault it really is.
Lets read on.
"In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body. 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”[b] 32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband."
Them's some powerful words. And none truer. So you see, you really can be watching a show on t.v. and start thinking about the Word of God and how it applies to your everyday life. I should write this down, Oh wait! I am.
So let me hit the dock and get this freight off my back.
- You could try and handle all the stuff you need to handle on your own, but you just don't realize it may be too much for you until it's too late.
- God gave you a helper with all kinds of strengths and gifting's. Don't be so rock headed as to not recognize it!
- If your in the rocking chair", and your doing what you know your to be doing, then keep your hands off the wheel! Let him drive. God gave him the instructions on how to get you safely down the road. Trust him. Let the gift's and talents you have, flow through you to help the common cause.
- But above all, "However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.". Husband, love her. Love her well. Can I tell you how to do that? Yeah right! I'm still learning it, and blowing it, and re-learning it everyday. But I'm still trying, because it honors my God when I do what He instructs me to do. Love her. Wife, respect him. Trust him. He really is trying to do the best he can. He has doubts. Big doubts on how he's going to get things done right if your not on board with what ever it is. He needs you. Bless God by trusting that God is not only speaking to your man, but empowering him to complete the task at hand.
Well that's it for now. Be safe and God bless.
Be Strong be courageous,
